Aina Alegre develops her artistic work as a choreographer, dancer and performer. After a multidisciplinary training, combining dance, theater and voice in Barcelona, she joined in 2007 the National Center of Contemporary Dance of Angers, under the direction of Emmanuelle Huynh, where she met artists and choreographers who nourished her choreographic background.
Since 2009, she lives and works in Paris, where she pursues her own artistic work. She conceives choreographic work as a space of friction in which to reinvent the body and dance, often fed by visual art, sound and film elements. She is also interested in body practices related to creation and the intersection between different disciplines.
In 2009, she created the duet Speed and the video dance object 12 45 84.
In 2011, she created the performance LA MAJA DESNUDA DICE.
In 2012, she created the solo piece NO SE TRATA DE UN DESNUDO
MITOLOGICO. In 2015 she created the duet DELICES and in 2017, she created her first group piece, LE JOUR DE LA BÊTE.
This year Aina Alegre will be associate artist in Sala Hiroshima.
In tandem with her choreographic work, she has also performed with various
choreographers, directors and filmmakers, as Vincent Thomasset, Gillaume
Vincent, Herman Diephuis, Lorenzo di Angelis, Betty Tchomanga, Fabrice
Lambert, Enora Rivière, David Wampach or Vincent Macaigne.
